COBIT is a framework created by ISACA for Information Technology (IT) management and IT Governance. It is a supporting toolset that allows Managers to bridge the gap between control requirements, technical issues and business risks. Originally designed for auditors to audit the IT organisation, the latest version (COBIT 5) is about linking business goals to IT Objectives.
The latest version COBIT 5 (launched April 2012) provides metrics and maturity models to measure whether or not the IT organisation has achieved its objectives. COBIT 5 also identifies the associated responsibilities of the Business Process Owners as well as those of the IT Process Owners.
